Sad News

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Joan Humphries who passed away last week, Kambala RA will be attending the funeral on 28th July. Joan was a lovely, lively lady she had lived on the Kambala Estate for over thirty years, she moved into Haven Lodge sheltered accomodation a couple of years ago, she had plenty of stories to tell you about Battersea, she was quite a character. We were so pleased that she could come on some of our coach trips, she will be missed. Community Garden, what a transformation!

What a transformation, 2011-2016, this is how long it took to finally get the Community Garden transformed into a hidden haven of peace and tranquillity, you would never know this little space existed. With the help of Wandsworth Councils Special Improvement Grants we raised £28,000 to make a lost abandoned space, into a fantastic area for residents to sit out and soak up the sun. We would like to thank Battersea Flower Station for helping with the design and planting of the beds, John and the team did us proud!. Corrilion from Battersea Power Station for originally coming to clear the Garden, these technicians took a day out of work to assist us. Community Works if you are consistent. We will be having a BBQ in the garden on Sunday 30th July at 3pm. We are also starting another garden in the Summer!   A pretty sorry sight Residents Tony and Clare 2014 looking pretty grim Corrilion do there magic Corrilion from Battersea Power station came to do the original dig in the Community Garden Corrilion helped clear the garden Getting the garden cleared The real work begins It is starting to take shape Sandra Evangelista and our Chair Donna checking on progress We chose brick work instead of wood The final result! Absolutely beautiful Our Herb Bed Lots of new seating for this sun trapped space! Our Garden looking...
