Councillor Belton’s November newsletter reports that we are soon to have the largest Youth Club in the UK, right on our Doorstep.
The old Caius Youth Club was demolished in 2008, in order to build a brand new development, consisting of a huge Youth Club on the lower floors, with 80 flats on the floors above.
(Caius is pronounced “Keys” – it’s a latinised word, BTW)
The Club will have a 3-storey Sports Hall, as well as a dance studio, a small cinema, a music recording studio, and a multimedia suite.
It’s being built just behind Badric Court, on the corner of Yelverton Road and Holman Road, and the builders are due to hand over the keys next Spring.
It’s about time local Kids had some decent facilities, to counteract the Council’s seemingly endless cuts to Children’s facilities in the Borough!
